Welcome to the Anglican Social Responsibilities Commission.
The Social Responsibilities Commission is charged with providing "a Christian context for the research and analysis of social issues". Therefore, its agenda is very broad, covering areas such as the environment, indigenous issues, poverty, prisons, housing and disability matters.
Matters are referred to the Commission by the Synods of the Anglican Church in Western Australia, by the Bishops and Diocesan Councils, and by parishes and individuals.
The Commission may also choose to take up matters which it views as important. Due to resource and staff constraints, the Commission is unable to take up every issue presented to it. The Commission invites visitors to this website to comment on issues raised and to suggest ways of improving the site. The first point of contact for people with inquiries, or with suggestions for matters which the Commission may take up, is the Executive Officer.
